Cinderella || Textiles Design

So for my textiles assignment this term, we were asked to create a costume of any kind. So for me this meant that I could finally make my childhood dream come true, which is to own a Cinderella ball gown. When I chose to create this dress I didn't quite realise how much work would go into creating this costume, and for only having done textiles for one year I underestimated the amount of work involved. The creation of this dress took a lot of time and effort and many hours of work went into this Cinderella ball gown. Over 30 metres of fabric went into this costume, with most of the fabric going to the four skirt layers one of which is the petticoat which I had to create in order to hopefully give the skirt extra volume. Although I am not 100% happy with the finished product, I am still very proud of how far I have come over the past year and now I have finally let my inner child shine through to create this Cinderella ball gown. Hope you guys enjoy this post sorry for the quality of the photos, I had bad lighting because I had to take the pictures at night in order to complete my folio.

So, on the first week of April a group of students that study Japanese at our school went on a trip to Japan, I was not one of those students who got that opportunity, although my best friend got to visit Japan and look at their culture. From all the different stories and places that my friend told me about, i gathered that Japan is a very clean and polite place to visit. The scenery and temples in Japan all looks so beautiful and intricate and it makes me want to visit Japan for myself. My best friend really enjoyed visiting Japan and seeing a different cultures lifestyle and she highly recommends visiting Japan because it is such a beautiful well kept, polite travel destination.

Commodore Hotel || McMahons Point

So last night my family and I went to the Commodore Hotel to catch up with some old friends. This place is more outdoor feeling although it does has a roof it does feel more like your outside. The pub is surrounded by a lots of trees setting a very nice atmosphere, its a very casual dining venue. I really enjoyed the meals because it was a much more modern twist on your typical pub foods, if you are someone who is just looking to have an beefy meat pie or juicy beef burger than this might not be a place for you. If you are though looking for a more upper class pub food than this is the place for you. I ordered a Smoked Chicken Breast Burger and really enjoyed the different flavour sensation. I recommend the Commodore Hotel for any occasion or family gathering because it's moderately priced and it is in quite a prime location with Lavender Bay Ferry Wharf in walking distance as well as a bus stop right out the front.

The Commodore Hotel is located at 206 Blues Point Road, McMahons Point.
